Current Wegovy formulations and Jardiance indications answer different clinical questions
The June 2026 DailyMed record lists Wegovy semaglutide as once-weekly injection and once-daily tablets. Both formulations have specified adult long-term weight-management and major-cardiovascular-event risk-reduction contexts. The injection label also includes obesity care for patients age 12 years and older and treatment of noncirrhotic metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, or MASH, with moderate to advanced fibrosis in certain adults. Jardiance is a daily empagliflozin tablet with adult heart-failure, chronic-kidney-disease, and cardiovascular indications, plus type 2 diabetes glycemic-control use in adults and children age 10 and older. Those indication differences should not be transferred from one product or formulation to another.
- Wegovy is not only a weekly injection: verify tablet versus injection from the prescription, manufacturer packaging, strength, and pharmacy label.
- Jardiance is not FDA-approved as a weight-loss medicine, and Wegovy is not a substitute for a clinician-directed heart-failure, kidney, or diabetes plan.
- The Wegovy injection has formulation-specific pediatric and MASH label context that should not be assumed for Wegovy tablets or Jardiance.
